Jeddah hosted the third planning meeting of the Multinational Maritime Defense Coalition (MMDC), with representatives from 39 countries in attendance.
According to SPA, 15 countries signed a joint statement, while 13 other nations completed national procedures to sign the MMDC Charter and officially joined. This marks the formal launch of the coalition as it moves toward institutional and operational activation.
The development coincides with the acceleration of institutional elements, including the appointment of a Saudi commander for the coalition. A deputy commander for the first term will be from Pakistan. Additionally, the coalition has determined the headquarters for its leadership and adopted an official logo.
