Makkah is seeing the execution of integrated operation and maintenance projects covering roads, bridges, facilities, lighting, tunnels, and parks to increase infrastructure efficiency.
According to SPA, road and sidewalk operations included the application of 4,590 cubic meters of asphalt, 4,030 square meters of traffic marking and painting, 2,030 square meters of interlock and slip-form paving, and 1,886 meters of curbing.
Bridge operations involved 194 cases of periodic maintenance, 2,230 square meters of sanding and painting concrete surfaces, 700 square meters of interlock and slip-form paving, and 4,400 meters of curbing.
Regarding facilities and lighting, the municipality maintained 26 pedestrian bridges, 81 restrooms, and one car park. Maintenance was performed on 1,820 lighting poles and bases, while 5,344 meters of tunnels were washed and cleaned. Additionally, 42 fire warning and extinguishing systems were operated and maintained.
Park and afforestation work included trimming 8,000 square meters of green space, pruning 718 trees, and trimming 11,620 square meters of hedges.
The municipality confirmed the continuation of these field operations based on continuous operational plans to maintain the readiness of facilities and improve service levels in the Holy Capital.
