Makkah is hosting the 46th King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Quran in the Grand Mosque. The event features 334 male and female participants from 133 countries competing across five categories.

According to SPA, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has deployed large digital screens in the final stage halls of the Grand Mosque and the women’s hall at the Hilton Hotel. These screens allow visitors to follow live recitations and competition progress.

The digital displays broadcast live recitations while simultaneously showing the pages of the Quran being read. They also provide participant details, including their name, country, and the specific competition category.

This edition marks the first time a dedicated section for women has been established, providing a suitable environment for female participants and their companions. The total prize pool for this cycle is 10,260,000 riyals.
