Southwestern Tayma Governorate in Tabuk Region is home to Al-Naslaa, two adjoining rock formations known as the twin rock due to a straight, narrow gap that creates the appearance of a clean split.
SPA reports that the formation stands approximately eight meters high and rests on two natural rock bases. The name Al-Naslaa comes from the Arabic word nasalat, meaning to separate, which refers to how the rock is detached from the surrounding mountains.
The Heritage Commission states that the site is located in an area featuring diverse archaeological remains and rock inscriptions. Tayma served as an important stop for centuries along ancient trade routes crossing northwestern Arabia. The site combines its geological structure with carved art and inscriptions that reflect the historical importance of Tayma and the Tabuk Region.
