Riyadh is the site of a new electronic mosque affairs system platform and application for mosque personnel launched by Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh in partnership with Zain.
According to SPA, the system covers 85,968 mosques and Eid prayer grounds across 151 cities and governorates and 13 ministry branches, serving approximately 14,647 users. The platform aims to unify data and procedures to improve information accessibility and provide reports for oversight and decision-making.
The system manages the full lifecycle of mosques, including construction needs, charitable contributions, registration, operation, field inspections, maintenance, and asset management. Male and female inspectors use the application and geographic locations to document and approve inspection findings during field visits.
Integration with the Masajid app allows users to find mosques, check prayer times, determine Qibla direction, and submit electronic ratings and reports. Users can also find opportunities to contribute to mosque construction, maintenance, and cleaning.
Since the pilot version began, the system recorded over 3.6 million inspection visits. This total includes 2,866,570 visits by male inspectors, 594,956 visits by female inspectors, 88,164 Friday prayer visits, 32,732 extraordinary visits, 19,155 visits to Eid prayer grounds, and 335 visits to vacant plots.
