The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture, Ithra, an Aramco Saudi initiative, announced the winners of the sixth short play competition after a final stage featuring five plays.
According to SPA, the competition included 123 participants from Saudi Arabia and several Arab countries. These participants engaged in a six-week training course designed to enhance artistic skills and the production of theatrical works.
Awards were presented in categories for best set design, best actor, best actress, best play, best directing, the people’s choice award, and best performance. A total of 10 plays reached the final stage of the competition.
Dr. Mona Kanieu was honored as the personality of the year for her role in preserving traditional performance methods and developing modern theater education in Lebanon and the region.
