The Strait of Hormuz was the site of an attack on two tankers belonging to the Emirati company ADNOC, which Saudi Arabia has condemned with the strongest terms.
According to SPA, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the repeated Iranian attacks targeting commercial ships and tankers. Saudi Arabia stated that these recurring attacks represent a dangerous escalation and a direct threat to maritime navigation security and global energy supply security.
The Kingdom described the act as a grave violation of international laws and standards, as well as a blatant challenge to Security Council Resolution 2817. This resolution reaffirms the necessity of respecting the rights and freedom of navigation for commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and condemns any measures or threats that may obstruct it.
Saudi Arabia held Iran fully responsible for the consequences of continuing these attacks and demanded an immediate end to them in compliance with relevant international laws. The Kingdom emphasized that international navigation safety and regional security are a shared responsibility and that continued attacks cannot be accepted or tolerated.
Saudi Arabia renewed its full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and reaffirmed its support for measures taken by the UAE to preserve its sovereignty, security, and resources.
