According to SPA, the global digital transformation has created challenges requiring alignment with technological progress to enhance the language’s presence in smart applications, search engines, and AI tools. National and regional initiatives have focused on developing linguistic databases, digital dictionaries, and natural language processing technologies to improve the ability of intelligent systems to analyze and process Arabic texts.
In Saudi Arabia, the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language has launched projects to develop digital linguistic resources and support computational linguistics. The Academy operates as a national and global reference, focusing on four main areas: linguistic planning and policy, computational linguistics, educational programs, and cultural programs to empower the language in the digital age.
