More than 880 tonnes of various fig varieties are produced annually in the Al-Jouf region. The production takes place across several farms in the region, supported by fertile soil and high-quality water.
According to SPA, Aqab Al-Ruwaili, the director of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture office in Sakaka, stated that fig cultivation is part of the diversified agricultural production for which Al-Jouf is known.
The success of these fruit varieties is attributed to natural resources and the efforts of farmers to improve cultivation methods, crop care, and production quality. These locally grown fruits contribute to the diversity of agricultural output and their presence in the markets reflects the region’s agricultural potential and the role of farmers in developing the sector.
