Saudi Arabia ozone-depleting substance elimination rate reaches 69%

Saudi Arabia increased the elimination rate of ozone-depleting substances to 69% during the first half of 2026, according to data from the National Center for Environmental Compliance.

SPA reported that the center announced the release of over 8,000 tons of ozone-depleting substances and hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) since the beginning of the year. This action is part of a project to gradually reduce ozone-depleting substances.

The project aims to ensure that the trade and import of these substances comply with international obligations and environmental requirements.
