Hajj and Umrah Research Forum workshops analyze transport efficiency

Makkah hosted workshops focused on research-based solutions to improve transport efficiency and pilgrim services as part of the 26th Scientific Forum for Hajj, Umrah and Visit Research.

According to SPA, the event was organized by Umm Al-Qura University. Sessions explored operational aspects of the Hajj and Umrah ecosystem, specifically communication between service providers and pilgrims.

Researchers utilized advanced modeling and simulation to analyze traffic flow and bus movements at transport hubs. One workshop evaluated how operational efficiency and transport performance indicators impact the pilgrim experience, while another examined the transition toward corporate models and its effect on communication mechanisms and service delivery.

The scientific agenda included reviews of simulation methods intended to manage traffic and bus reception at central stations to support operational sustainability.
