The Maldives is receiving 10 tons of dates to benefit 40,000 people through the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Date Distribution Program. A ceremony was held on Ramadan 2, 1446 AH, at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs headquarters in the Maldives to mark the launch.
According to SPA, the event was attended by Deputy Saudi Ambassador to the Maldives Fahad Al-Dosari and Maldives Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance was represented by the Religious Attaché at the Saudi Embassy in India.
A separate ceremony at the Islamic Center of the Maldives launched the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Iftar Program, which is expected to benefit 4,500 individuals during Ramadan. Deputy Saudi Ambassador Fahad Al-Dosari also attended this event.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance is implementing the Date Distribution Program in 102 countries and the Iftar Program in 61 countries worldwide this Ramadan. Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed expressed gratitude to the leadership of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs for these programs and the service to the Two Holy Mosques.
