Makkah served as the location for the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance and the National Commission on Muslim Affairs of the Philippines.
According to SPA, the agreement was signed by Deputy Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance Awad Al-Anazi and the Chairman of the National Commission on Muslim Affairs Sabdin Abdul Rahim.
The MoU aims to strengthen cooperation in Islamic affairs, promote the introduction and dissemination of Islam, and clarify the position of Islam on contemporary issues. It also focuses on improving the cultural literacy of Muslim communities and exchanging research, books, and academic publications in various languages.
Further coordination will involve visits by Imams of the Two Holy Mosques to the Philippines. The agreement also includes organizing academic conferences and training workshops to enhance the capabilities of preachers, speakers, Imams, and Muezzins in the Philippines.
