Amman hosted the 50th anniversary celebration of the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (Arabosaid), which is currently presided over by Saudi Arabia represented by the General Court of Audit.
According to SPA, the event was supported by Jordanian Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan and attended by Dr. Hossam bin Abdulmohsen Al-Anqari, President of the General Court of Audit and President of Arabosaid, alongside heads of supreme audit institutions from member Arab countries.
The ceremony reviewed the organization’s history and achievements since its founding in 1976, focusing on its role in strengthening cooperation among member institutions and with related international and regional organizations. The event highlighted five decades of efforts to expand oversight awareness and support member institutions in achieving transparency, efficiency, effectiveness, and the optimal use of public resources in Arab countries.
Dr. Al-Anqari stated that the occasion serves as an opportunity to review achievements and encourage joint cooperation and integration among member institutions. He emphasized the importance of keeping pace with modern developments by continuously evaluating work methods and utilizing technologies to enhance the efficiency of these institutions.
The General Court of Audit first assumed the presidency of the organization in 1983. It is the first entity to be elected for two consecutive terms, serving from 2022 to 2025 and 2025 to 2028.
