The esplanades of the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah were the site of a life-saving intervention where medical teams reached a 40-year-old Nigerian Umrah pilgrim in 32 seconds on Thursday evening.
According to SPA, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) emergency teams discovered the pilgrim was suffering from cardiac and respiratory arrest upon arrival. The teams applied approved medical protocols and began cardiopulmonary resuscitation while an additional emergency medical support team was dispatched to the scene.
Dr. Omar Al-Attas, the acting general director of the SRCA branch in the Madinah region, stated that the pilgrim was stabilized on-site before being transported to the Al-Safiyah health center. The patient was handed over to medical staff after the resuscitation maneuvers succeeded and his pulse was restored.
Dr. Al-Attas noted that the intervention reflects the coordination between the medical regulation center and emergency teams, as well as the training of SRCA personnel. He urged the public to report medical emergencies quickly to help save lives.
